Thomas Barthelemy

Born in 1981 in Bayonne, Thomas Barthelemy began playing saxophone at the CRR of Bayonne (Eric Devallon's class), before studying at the CRR of Lyon and Versailles in the classes of Jean-Denis Michat and Vincent David. In 2005, he joined Claude Delangle's class at the CNSMDP, where he unanimously obtained a Master's degree with TB mention. 

He is a founding member of the Squillante saxophone ensemble and has been invited to perform at numerous festivals: Flâneries Musicales de Reims (closing concert in front of 17,000 people), Folles jours de Nantes, Semaines Musicales de Quimper, Festival C pas Classique of Nice, The concerts of the improbable by Jean-François Zygel at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, Festival of young performers at Radio France, Festival Musique en Vignes in Fronton, the bandstand at the Phénix in Valenciennes, the Boîte à musique of Jean-François Zygel on France Télévision, but also the Iberico Festival in Badajoz in Spain, the Samobor festival in Croatia or the Mi-fugue, mi-raisin festival in Belgium among many others… 

For several years he was a saxophonist in the Brest Fleet Crew Band. He has also performed with prestigious orchestras such as the Paris Orchestra, the Bordeaux Aquitaine Orchestra, the Pays de la Loire National Orchestra, the “les Siècles” Orchestra and the Intercontemporain Ensemble. 

He has been teaching since September 2017 at the CRR in Toulouse, and since 2015 at the higher music center of the Basque country 'Musikene'.
